There are many factors that contribute to the popularity of a comic book character. Some characters, such as Spider-Man and Iron Man, have become popular due to their iconic costumes and powers. Others, like Captain America and Wolverine, have gained popularity through their roles in successful adaptations in video games, television and film.

Marvel Comics has created hundreds of such characters over the years, but some stand out from the rest and have stood the test of time to become particularly iconic. These characters have achieved popularity for a variety of reasons, including their iconic costumes and powers, successful adaptations in movies and television, and long histories in the comics. To kick off 2023 I’ve decided to share my rather subjective list of the top 10 most popular Marvel Comics characters based on their popularity and cultural impact.
