Get answers to blood pressure, heath access questions at Community Board 2 meeting this week

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Dr. Ginny Mantello, director of health and wellness for the office of Borough President Vito Fossella, will discuss new blood pressure guidelines during a virtual meeting of Community Board 2 on Monday, Jan. 9.

Also during the meeting, Dr. Diana Romero, a professor in the Department of Community Health and Social Sciences at CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy, will speak about health equity and access to care in New York City. Questions and discussion will follow.

Community Board 1

Community Board 1 will hold a virtual meeting of its full board on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held via Zoom.

Community Board 3

The Parks and Recreation/Environmental Committee of Community Board 3 will hold a virtual public hearing on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m. During the meeting, representatives from the city Department of Parks and Recreation will discuss the drainage at Greencroft Playground with the committee and the community.

The board will hold a land use public hearing on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. in the board conference room.

On the agenda is the Cole Street Development and a proposed change to the city map to facilitate a new residential development in Richmond Valley consisting of 101 units (48 two-family homes and five single-family homes).

And on Thursday, Jan. 12, a virtual meeting of the Community Alliance Committee will take place at 7 p.m.

Members will review State Liquor Authority applications for renewal.
